For the exhibition entitled “Objects of reference” the artists Beatrix Szörényi (HU/DE) and Katarina Šević (HU/SRB) are presenting a mise-en-scène like installation which calls on the visitors to make themselves conformable and to contemplate the dialogue of the artists about the difference and similarities in artistic approaches, working methods and personal backgrounds, manifested through their objects. For this occasion they are also presenting a publication revealing their object-related ideas, referring to the histories of art, craft and design and roles of objects in the construction of the narratives. The exhibition in etc. gallery prolongs the cooperation between Szörényi and Šević that was initiated by the curator Eszter Lázár (HU) and started in 2011, through the exhibition “The age of References” in Budapest, which dealt with the motivations, processes and roles of making and thinking.
