Vitamin E is a collection of pictures related to the treatment of the human body by modern medicine, which abstracts human beings into the form of biochemical processes on the basis of scientific research. I find all processes taking place on such a microscopic level as standing apart from all ethical judgements. And, in my own observation, they become highly aesthetic. I was aware of a powerful difference between that “real” microscopic shape captured by the photographs and the special logic of the scientific publications which were the source of my work. This is why I composed the pictures in two layers: the first being abstracts in the form of structural patterns and cell schemes, and the second layer being formed by viruses, bacteria, moulds and cells taken from real photographs. I chose this form of painting from a very simple reason – for me it brings life to schema which are essentially rational and detached, and strips them of their rigidity. In my view, they thus regain a human character.
