The work Like at Home is an irony-tinged project about short-term memory.
It notes the transformation of values within generations; it explores childhood in the times of socialism. The project concerns a collection of embroidered folk “cookbooks,” each with a newly assigned text: a phrase conforming to the era or a childhood memory is embroidered in place of folk wisdom.
The personal message is complemented with an installation composed of chains made from plastic letter C's, testifying to the socialist-era phenomenon of schoolchildren collecting letter C's. The installation evokes the atmosphere of after-school clubs.
