The first presented artist is David P\u0159\u00edlu\u010d\u00edk, who will show his latest video Blind Bidding in the gallery. This video looks at the current developments in the area of data generation and distribution, as illustrated by the example of the film industry. The video captures a fictional developer Peter Davis and his lecture on the possibilities of using data from old films by director Victor Fleming. Although Fleming is long deceased, we can now speculate about his potential new films, whose plots are based on his actual movies. Blind Bidding, however, does not speculate on the form of the future as such, but about the way it is formed and about who has the right to shape it. The video thus raises important questions about possible impacts of technological development on the cultural and social spheres.<\/p>\n
David P\u0159\u00edlu\u010d\u00edk graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in 2016. During his studies, he attended studios of Ji\u0159\u00ed Lindovsk\u00fd, Tom\u00e1\u0161 Van\u011bk, Ruth Noack, Simon Waschmuth and has completed the residency in Israel at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. He is the member of Studio Without Master initiative, Arty\u010dok TV a also cooperates with NGOs and activist organizations.<\/p>\n
