The screening selection brings together three audiovisual works that explore the representation of reality through speculative strategies. Situated between documentary and fiction, archival footage and performative staging, the films present narratives that may never have happened. The authors deliberately manipulate image and narration to expose hidden layers of events, unmask institutional manipulation, or ironically comment on the absurdity of ideological constructs. These works subvert genre conventions and challenge viewer expectations, thereby questioning the boundaries between reality and its mediated image. Here, both humor and uncertainty serve as tools to destabilize trust in “real” events – and as an invitation to reflect on whom and what we trust in a world of mediated images.
