There had long been strife between native Hawaiians and astronomers about the desecration of the mountain by building telescopes. Mauna Kea has now many eyes to look at the universe. The exhibition Summit of Gods (Keck I-II) takes visitors to the summit of Mauna Kea – a volcano on Hawai – where the horizons of indigenous people and Western scientific rationality meet.
